The National Film Permit is an official document required to film in Indonesia. It ensures that all filming activities comply with local laws and regulations.
To obtain a National Film Permit, you must work with a local Production Services Company like East West Film. You must prepare and submit the required documents to the Indonesian Embassy in your country, including a project proposal, a script, and details about your filming schedule and locations. We will provide the corporate sponsorship letter to add to your application. The approval process takes 4-6 weeks, so plan ahead!
In short, yes, you need a Journalist Visa. The Journalist Visa (C14) is designed for foreign journalists, filmmakers, and media crew members who wish to work in Indonesia. It allows you to engage in media-related activities, including filming.
To obtain a Journalist Visa (C14), you need a local sponsor, such as East West Film. You must prepare the required documents, such as corporate letters, a valid passport, recent passport photos, completed application forms, flight itineraries, and staying addresses. We can guide you through the submission process. You can obtain a Journalist Visa for 30 or 60 days. The processing time takes up to 8 weeks.
Yes, you can bring your own equipment for filming in Indonesia. However, you must declare all equipment to the Customs Authority with an ATA Carnet, an international customs and temporary export-import document. Our team can assist with this process to ensure everything is in order. We can also arrange and support your equipment list in Indonesia.
Yes, drones are allowed for filming in Indonesia, but only Indonesian citizens with valid licensing certificates can operate drones/UAVs.
